Hello and welcome to the Armored Corps CID cycle!
Below you will find a list of all of the models currently included in this CID cycle. Take special note of the "things to test" section for each of the new models. These are guidelines and/or discussion points to help spark feedback. Please note that there are many more questions you could ask about these models, so feel free to get creative and do not feel like these are the only questions we wanted answered.
Please remember that asking for additional things to be added to CID or to be changed is against the Terms of Service. Do not make threads asking for things that are not in the list below to change.
New Models
Kommandant Sorscha Kratikoff (3): Wearing custom Man-O-War armor, this iteration of Sorscha has elements of her previous versions but also new elements that synergize very well within an Armored Corps theme force. Spells like Wind Rush and abilities like Storm's Embrace are thematically very 'Sorscha', while abilities such as Field Marshal [Man-O-War] reinforce her place as a fantastic warcaster in the Armored Corps. Despite her heavy armor, Sorscha should remain a very mobile combatant.
Things to test: Is Sorscha providing the appropriate support to deliver your typically slow moving Man-O-War troops to the enemy. If she providing too much support, and pushing the already durable Man-O-War beyond the limit of reasonable survivability.
Man-O-War Bombardier Officer (CA):This new Command Attachment brings utility and superior firepower to the already devastating Bombardiers. With the new Granted: Clear Cut ability, the unit has a reliable source of Pathfinder. Thanks to Support Fire and Quick Work, the volume of attacks this unit can produce has been greatly increased.
Things to test: Is the volume of firepower provided by the unique abilities of this CA too much? Does this unit with its CA smother the usefulness of Shock Troops and Demo Corps.
Sergeant Dragos Dragadovich (CA): This character Command Attachment for the Demo Corps takes the already formidable units, and turns them into heavy warjack and elite killing machines. Defensive Line helps the Demo Corp remain in the fight once stuck in, while Vengeance and Team Effort ensure that no matter what the unit is facing, they're going to tear it apart through volume of attacks and sheer POW.
Things to test: Is the damage output of this unit too high? Is defensive line helping to increase the survivability of the unit once engaged in a meaningful capacity?
Kommandant Atanas Arconovich & Standard: Similar to the Skorne Tyrant Commander & Standard, this two model unit provides great utility for any Armored Corps force, and backs it up with a serious punch. Each of the three battle plans available provide excellent flexibility to the Man-O-War, and especially units such as the Demo Corps with their new CA. Giving a unit with Vengeance the Retaliatory Strike ability is incredibly strong, as it is on shield walled Shock Troops.
Things to test: Are any of the battle plans problematic with certain combinations of models? Do they push the capabilities of any specific model / unit far beyond what your opponent can reasonably answer.
Man-O-War Suppression Tanker: The two new large based Man-O-War tankers are walking weapons platforms that unleash hell upon the enemy. Both are incredibly durable with ARM 17 + 2 Shields and 10 damage boxes each. The Suppression Tanker in particular is specialized to eliminate light infantry from the path of other models, and to also protect Man-O-War units from getting jammed thanks to its covering fire ability.
What to test: Is the Suppression tanker fulfilling its role of clearing light infantry out of the path of your more elite troops and models?
Man-O-War Strike Tanker: Whereas the Suppression Tanker clears out light infantry, the Strike Tanker punches holes in harder targets. This model acts as a backup to hard hitting models such as Demo Corps and warjacks, helping to deal some hefty damage and also prevent healing from wounded foes.
What to test: Do you find the Strike tanker as appealing as the Suppression tanker? What models are you pairing it with, and is it dealing an appropriate amount of damage for its point cost.
Man-O-War Siege Chariot: The Man-o-War chariots are everything you expect out of a Man-O-War battle engine. Huge, terrifying engines of destruction. Both chariots can smash enemy lines apart with powerful impact attacks, but the weaponry mounted on each separates their two battlefield roles, much like the Tankers. The Siege Chariot has ... simply put, one of the most powerful guns in the game. This RNG 8 POW 20 weapon has Smite, and thanks to Dual Attack can always be fired even after the Chariot charges into battle. It should be noted that the Chariots are specifically not as tanky as the Gun Carriage, they are chariots afterall, and are lighter and less durable than the winter guard battle engine.
What to test: That gun.
Man-O-War Assault Chariot: Whereas the Siege chariot excels at an incredibly powerful single shot, the Assault chariot excels at clearing out entire fields of infantry at once. With up to four 3" High Explosive AOEs coming out of this battle engine each turn, light infantry will get utterly shredded should they find themselves in range of the Barrage Gun.
What to test: How does the Assault chariot stack up to the Siege chariot. Is it achieving its role as an elite infantry mulching machine.
Legacy Models
Kommander Anrei Malakov (2): Malakov's second iteration is a fantastic infantry support caster, which felt at odds with his battlegroup only feat. While most infantry will not benefit from the elusive nature of the feat due to the fact that they will die in a single hit, elite infantry (such as Man-O-War) will greatly benefit from the additional mobility, parry, and Steady abilities. Thus, we've changed Malakov's feat to affect all friendly Faction models in his control range, not just battlegroup.
What to test: What exploits or abuses are you finding with the change to this feat, not just in Armored Corps but other themes as well.
Beast-09: The first of many points adjustments, Khador warjacks received a full review and it was determined that many were either slightly undercosted and smothering the other warjack options in the faction, or were overcosted and not as desirable. Beast 09 was reduced by 3 points with this in mind.
Berserker: The entire berserk chassis was upgraded to MAT 6, and received points reductions as discussed above. Given the risky nature of Unstable, the model also having a lower than average MAT felt a bit too punishing.
Conquest: After reviewing the updated points costs of the Khador heavy warjacks, the Colossals were also reviewed to determine their viability in the face of the newly costed heavies. Both the Conquest and the Victor are receiving points discounts to bring them in line with other options.
Decimator: The Decimator decreased by 1 point.
Juggernaut: The Juggernaut, while a mainstay of any Khador army, was simply a bit too cheap given its hitting power and durability in comparison to other faction heavies. A single point increase will help bring it in line with other options.
Mad Dog: Same as the Berserker, this warjack received a MAT increase and a point decrease.
Marauder: Similar to the Juggernaut, this model was slightly undercosted given its performance, and was increased in points slightly by 1 point.
Rager: Same as the Berserker, this warjack received a MAT increase and a point decrease. Additionally, the Rager received a RAT increase to make its Shield Gun a bit more relevant.
Spriggan: A point reduction down to 17 points should bring this tanky warjack in line with other warjack options in faction.
Victor: See Conquest.
Man-O-War Bombardiers: The Bombardier's grenade cannon RNG was increased to 12, given the increased volume of firepower they can now bring to bear, we wanted to ensure they could also reach their opponent when doing so.
Man-O-War Shock Troopers
& Officer: No changes, but in this cycle as we anticipate they'll be in plenty of lists.
Man-O-War Demo Corps: No changes, but in this cycle as we anticipate they'll be in plenty of lists.
Man-O-War Drakhun: No changes, but in this cycle as we anticipate they'll be in plenty of lists.
Man-O-War Kovnik: No changes, but in this cycle as we anticipate they'll be in plenty of lists.
